ThecoursepresentsahistoricalperspectiveonthedevelopmentofU.S. social work and human services. Special attention is given to current service delivery systems, major fields of practice, their policies and procedures, and the values, tasks, ethical responsibilities of culturally responsive social workers and human service workers within those settings. Students will be able to make an informed decision about whether to pursue further education in the profession of social work. Field trips may be offered throughout the course.
