This course develops the student's repertoire of behavioral skills and an understanding of the principles governing marriage and family life, including communication, decision-making, human sexuality,divorce,single-parenting,alternativefamilylifestyles,coping with stress and physiological outcomes. Special attention is given to the history of the family and the ways economic, cultural, legal, and political forces have affected the family in the past, and affect the family in the present and the future. (A student who receives credit for PSY 010 cannot receive credit for SOC 010). Note: A student who receives credit for SOC 010 cannot receive credit for PSY 010.
