Students will explore questions such as "what is the ideal society?" and "what is justice?" by studying diverse social and political philosophers from throughout history and around the world, including Confucius, Karl Marx, Maria Lugones, and Angela Davis. Topics to be addressed include utopia, democracy, the social contract, anti-racism, immigration, feminism, capitalism, socialism, the media, anti-colonialism, and the environment. Special emphasis will be given to philosophical theories of racial, gender, economic, and environmental justice.Usually HeldWed 5:50pm–9:00pm
