    Description
    This course introduces students to diverse philosophers and philosophies from the modern period of Philosophy (16th-18th centuries). Students will study texts by Western, non-Western, and women philosophers, including Descartes, Spinoza, Kant, Amo, and Sor Juana In�s de la Cruz. Topics to be addressed include the relationship between mind and body, the source and limits of knowledge, and the nature of justice. Special emphasis will be given to modern philosophical theories of knowledge (epistemology) and reality (metaphysics).
