    Description
    This course introduces students to diverse ancient philosophers and philosophies from around the world. Students will study Egyptian, Chinese, Aztec, Greek and other ancient texts by philosophers such as Ptah-Hotep, Buddha, Confucius, Nezahualcoyotl, Plato, and Aristotle. Topics to be addressed include ethics, justice, happiness, wisdom, death, love, and friendship. Special emphasis will be given to making connections between ancient philosophies and discussing their relevance to life and society today.
