Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course provides the student with the knowledge and skills to become certified as an emergency medical technician (EMT). Areas of study include: preparatory/introduction to emergency medical services (EMS), patient assessment, airway, pharmacology, shock and resuscitation, medical emergencies, trauma emergencies, special patient populations, and EMS operations. The student will spend time on an ambulance and in a hospital emergency department to receive practical EMS and emergency medical experience. This course is compliant with California Code of Regulations (Title 22, Division 9, Chapter 2) and meets the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National EMS Education Standards. This course is approved by the Contra Costa County EMS Agency as outlined by California Code of Regulations and the National Registry of EMTs.Usually Held9:00am–8:50pm, Mon 3:30pm–8:00pm, Mon 8:30am–1:00pm, Thu 4:05pm–9:05pm
