Areas covered include conjugated systems, aromatic compounds, aldehydes and ketones, carboxylic acid derivatives, alpha carbon chemistry, and amines. Organometallics and biomolecules will be introduced. Laboratory exercises include a variety of syntheses, reaction studies, and structural identifications using spectroscopic methods.
