Students read articles, essays, poetry, and works of fiction or non-fiction. They write well- developed essays in response to their reading. Students review basic grammar and develop advanced grammar and sentence skills. Students are introduced to and use Modern Language Association (MLA) style and research skills to write a short research-based essay.
