    Description
    This course prepares the student for employment as a nurse assistant in a skilled nursing facility. Upon successful completion of the course, the student is eligible to take the state examination for certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). The content is based upon the Model Curriculum for Nurse Assistant Training and Assessment Program following the Department of Health Services Guidelines. The course is organized in modules with content ranging from the role and responsibilities of the CNA to death and dying. Additional costs for students include the purchase of appropriate uniform for the clinical site, books, and application fees for the state certification examination. The course is intended for students who wish to enhance their application into an Allied Health program such as nursing.
