    Description
    Students will be introduced to environmental issues from a scientific perspective. The course will focus on the physical, chemical, and biological process within Earth systems. A major focus will be on the interaction between humans and ecological processes and factors involved in developing sustainable solutions to pressing environmental challenges. Topics include physiological, behavioral, and population ecology, and on linking ecological processes to evolution. Principles of biodiversity, climate change, sustainability, renewable and nonrenewable energy, water resources, air and water pollution, and solid waste management will be discussed within the context of managing systems.
