    Description
    In Intermediate Medical Surgical Nursing, the student will synthesize nursing knowledge and skills in providing safe, comprehensive care to patients who have complex medical conditions. Students learn to anticipate and prioritize patient needs and evaluate outcomes. The student will utilize communication techniques to provide health teaching and illness prevention information to patients and families. Accurate, thorough written electronic documentation and verbal communication of clinical information is required. The roles, responsibilities, functions, and skills of the RN in the acute care setting are explored and developed. Simulation activities support clinical and theoretical knowledge and competencies.
