    MUS 1025 - Beginning Voice I Minimum Grade: "B" Outcomes Understand and appreciate various historical and cultural aspects of specific selections being performed, including brief histories of the groups that originally performed those selections. Analyze the function of his or her musical part as to how it fits in with the full ensemble, including balance, blend, rhythm, articulation and other musical considerations as well as overcoming the limitations imposed by the aging physique. Analyze and diagnose issues of good singing: posture, breath support, focus, tone production, interpretation and expression.

    Description
    This course is designed to provide voice training for Music and Theater majors and minors in the music of Broadway musicals. Other students wishing to improve their singing voice are also welcome. All instrumental and vocal music majors are required to complete this course. MUS 1025 and 1525 are highly recommended for theater majors and are required for all music majors.
