    MATH 1200 - Pre-Calculus Math 1200 with a C or better or qualification through assessment Outcomes Analyze the behavior of a relation or function and sketch a reasonably accurate graph of a variety of commonly encountered relations and functions, including: a. polynomial functions b. rational functions c. functions involving roots and radicals d. functions involving signed rational exponents and absolute values e. logarithmic functions f. exponential functions g. trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions h. piecewise-defined functions involving a-g above Demonstrate a working knowledge of functional notation, algebra of functions, composition of functions, and inverse functions Solve a wide variety of equations, including those following: a. polynomial expressions b. rational expressions c. roots and radicals d. signed rational exponents e. absolute values f. logarithmic expressions (any base) g. exponential expressions (any base) Analyze and solve a wide variety of application and proof problems involving : a. geometric facts and reasoning b. exponential-logarithmic facts and models c. trigonometric facts and reasoning d. maximum/minimum problems involving quadratic expressions e. combinations of a-d Solve a wide variety of simple and compound inequalities including those involving: a. polynomial expressions b. rational expressions c. absolute values Use basic analytical geometry formulas and solve problems involving conic sections

    Description
    This course is the first of a sequence of three courses in Calculus and Analytic Geometry. Topics include a review of elementary functions, their limits, differentiation, applications of differentiation, integration, and applications of the definite integral. C-ID MATH 210 & 211.
