    FIRE 9167 - CalFire Firefighter Basic Outcomes List and describe the capabilities and uses of wildland fire fighting aircraft. Describe the Cal Fire Mission and Organization, Code of Conduct, EEO/Sexual Harassment, and working with California inmate fire crews. Explain what occurs in the combustion process, and describe the elements of weather, topography, and fuels as they affect wildlant fire fighting Identify the components, uses, and limitations of wildland and structural personal protective equipment. Identify types and components of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, describe how to properly maintain the unit, and demonstrate how to properly don and remove the SCBA. List the 10 standard fire fighting orders, LCES, and 18 fire situations. Describe methods of avoiding fire entrapment, what to do if trapped, and the procedures to deploy a fire shelter. List and describe types of fire hose, couplings, appliances, and nozzles and their uses and care. Demonstrate the proper use of wildland hand tools, power tools, firing devices, and fire extinguishers List and describe the components of fire service ground ladders, and demonstrate their proper use.

    Description
    This is a comprehensive review of basic firefighter skills and knowledge to enable the student to resume the duties of a seasonal firefighter. Topics will include but are not limited to hose lays, chainsaws, Haz Mat, EMS, and initial attack. This course may be repeated according to State mandate regarding professional continued training.
