Demonstrate the proper methods to operate, inspect, and maintain firefighting and rescue equipment. Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis is the continuation of Fire 0951A—Firefighter I and 2 Academy. Students successfully completing the Fire Academy (FIRE 0951A Firefighter Academy I and 2 and FIRE 0952 Firefighter Academy I and 2) will be eligible for California State Fire Marshal Certification as a Firefighter I and 2, California Fire Service Training and Education System (CFSTES) certification as a Firefighter II once they complete the experience requirement and Taskbook. In addition, students will receive certificates for Swift Water Awareness, Confined Space Awareness, HAZMAT FRO/WMD, HAZMAT Decontamination, Firefighter Survival, Fire Control 3, Rope Rescue Awareness/Operations, and Vehicle Extrication. The students will also receive all the National Wildland Coordinating Group (NWCG) certifications needed for entry-level wildland firefighters. With these certifications, students will be qualified for entry-level firefighter positions in federal, state, county, and municipal fire departments.
