- ENGL 1019 - Introduction to Creative Writing Minimum Grade: C Additional: Outcomes 1. Read diverse professional and student texts actively and critically. 2. Create a portfolio of original works in different genres. 3. Use the writers' workshop and/or peer and instructor feedback to evaluate their own manuscripts as well as the manuscripts of others.

- Designed for writers who want to pursue their craft in creative nonfiction writing. Writers will develop their skills through workshops, learning how to critique their work within a writers’ community. This course is also one of the required courses for the Certificate in Creative Writing.
