- Introduction to the basic concepts of mass communication, including the history, development, effects, uses and functions associated with mass media. Survey of mass communication and the interrelationships of media with society including research theories, economics, technology, law and ethics, global media, media literacy, and social issues. C-ID JOUR 100.
