    ART 1004 - Painting Outcomes Analyze and solve problems of artistic composition Demonstrate technical competence in Acrylic painting. Recognize and appreciate historical painting styles, artists, and aesthetics. Demonstrate sensitivity to, and an understanding of, the cultural impact of painting in the past and in today's diverse society. Assess and critique paintings in group, individual, and written contexts using relevant critique formats, concepts, and terminology. Create paintings that evidence a working knowledge of the physical properties of painting materials. Demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate and compare one's own works of art in relationship to humanities, self expression, and creativity.

    Description
    Continued instruction in the use of oil, acrylics and water color techniques and styles of landscape, still life, figure and individual composition; emphasis on composition, techniques, equipment, theory, and mechanics of color. Group and individual problems are major parts of this course as is the examination of contemporary and historically significant artists and paintings.
