Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course presents an overview of Chemical Dependency. Students will be introduced to concepts and application of theories, research, and treatment related to chemical dependency. Students will gain an understanding of addiction as a biopsychosocial process that has individual, family, and societal consequences, and will gain an understanding of a full range of intervention, treatment, and prevention strategies, and will examine public policies. The course will include a survey of the history and theories of substance use.
