    Description
    This course focuses on gender relations in society. Self-reflection about gender identity and gendered relationships takes place throughout this course alongside examination of historical, social, economic, political, and cultural forces in shaping gender identity and gender roles. The goal of the course is to utilize sociological perspectives to explain gender experience as socially constructed while identifying alternate perspectives. Specifically, the course examines the experience of people of diverse economic, racial, and ethnic origins within historical, social institutional, and cross-cultural context.
