    Description
    In this introduction to the performance of oral literature, students analyze a broad range of Western and non-Western forms of poetry, prose, and drama, consider the cultural and aesthetic value of these works, and apply theories of interpretive adaptation to solo, duo, and readers’ theatre performances. Emphasis on examining diverse forms, selecting appropriate material, editing and sequencing segments, employing verbal and non-verbal delivery techniques, and engaging in post-performance evaluation.
