Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course is designed to provide students with a general understanding of the history, present status, and future of fisheries. Students will learn about inland and offshore fisheries, fishing gear, methods, management strategies, economics, and the sociology of fisheries. This course provides an overview of fisheries laws and regulations and their relationship between fish, people, and the environment. Special attention will be devoted to commercial finfish and shellfish fisheries on the West Coast.
