    Students will analyze the relationship African Americans have within the US American political system. This course will provide an in-depth understanding of how enslaved Africans and African Americans were able to shape American political thought and culture since the framing of the nation. This course will analyze their influence in the distribution of political power at all levels of the local, state, and federal governments. The course will evaluate African American political movements, and their contribution to feminism, socialist, and nationalist ideology. Lecture Grading: Letter PS 001.
