    This is a noncredit course focusing on the fundamental mathematical principles needed for success in mathematics and science courses requiring skills in algebra. Topics include operations on integers, decimals, fractions, and mixed numbers; the concept and uses of variables; percents, ratios, rates, and proportions; the metric and American systems of measurement, including the conversion of units; and simplifying algebraic expressions.
