Transfers ToCSUDescriptionThis course provides a comprehensive overview of theories and strategies for the prevention of substance use disorders. Primary, secondary and tertiary and evidence based prevention models will be introduced. Prevention programs and activities appropriate for community, school, parents, families, and work sites will be presented. Strategies on treatment intervention, information dissemination and relapse prevention will be covered. The course will also provide examples of harm reduction or environmental risk reduction strategies targeting different populations.
