Transfers ToNot transferableDescriptionThis courses gives an overview of package design basics, including fabricating dimensional forms, packaging typography, & materials. It is a project-driven exploration of packaging design, which is defined as stylized functional design for carrying, protecting, or presenting a product. Topics include the principles and elements of design, current technical and creative methods and styles employed by package designers, sustainability, advanced critical concepts, and professional practices including how to set-up the design to be printed. This course includes portfolio building, with an emphasis on professional standards. The introduction of 3D rendering software and manufacturing processes builds the foundation for visualization of concepts in hand and on the shelf. Emphasis on consumer interaction with branding hierarchy, innovative packaging concepts, and exploration of sustainable issues in the global marketplace are addressed.
