    Description
    Prerequiste: Must be 18 years or older the first day the class meets and have completed an American Heart Association "BLS for the Healthcare Provider" course and Present AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card to instructor the first day of class. Co-Requiste: HLHSCI-151 Prepares students with the knowledge and skills necessary to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) examination for certification and employment as an EMT, including emergency department and ambulance clinical shifts. Health clearance and background check required prior to start of clinical rotations. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take the National Registry EMT examination. The course meets the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National EMS Education Standards (2021). May be repeated if used for legally mandated training. Must be taken concurrently with HLHSCI-151 and HLHSCI-151L.
