Students learn the practice of yoga postures to aid in improvement of concentration, physical endurance, flexibility, balance, and alignment. The course integrates basic breathing techniques to enhance the mind-body connection, and reduce stress. Students also examine the context of yoga history philosophy and ethics. College of the Canyons 123 CREDIT PROGRAMS / COURSE DESCRIPTIONS DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY Associate in Science Degree: Diagnostic Medical Sonography The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program prepares students for entry-level positions in medical sonography through comprehensive training in abdominal, superficial structures, obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound. Through didactic instruction, laboratory training, and hands-on clinical experience, students gain the knowledge, technical skills, and critical thinking abilities required to perform diagnostic imaging across multiple specialties. Graduates will be academically prepared to pursue eligibility for the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) and/ or ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification exams. Degree Student Learning Outcome: Students will be able to demonstrate cognitive knowledge, psychomotor skills, and ethical patient care for diverse populations as competent entry-level sonographers in Abdominal Sonography and Obstetrics and Gynecology concentrations.
