    Description
This course is designed to improve multilingual students’ high-intermediate vocabulary and reading skills as a foundation for further academic work. Specifically, students will learn skills such as using context clues to guess the meaning of vocabulary, distinguishing main ideas and details, identifying facts and opinions, making logical inferences, and connecting articles to their own experiences. They will practice these skills in high-intermediate texts of at least 2-3 pages. It is recommended that students enroll concurrently in ESL 827 or higher writing course and ESL 847 or higher-level conversation course.
