This course introduces the methods, logic, and empirical and analytical strategies behavioral scientists use to study the social world. Students gain knowledge of and practical experience in the scientific method, evaluation of evidence, and the various components of the research design and development process. Key topics include qualitative and quantitative modes of inquiry, formulating a research question, constructing and operationalizing variables, developing and testing hypotheses, ethics of research, and developing a study design and methodology.
