    Description
    (Prerequisite: MEDA 170. Corequisite: MEDA 171L.) This course introduces selected and common screening laboratory and clinical procedures performed in medical offices. Topics include EKGs, the microscope, hematology, urinalysis, various specimen collections, radiology and diagnostic tests. Asepsis and universal precautions are stressed. The role of medical assistants in procedures including injections and skin tests is discussed. (CSU)
