    Description
    (No prerequisite. Corequisite: MEDA 164L. Advisories: BOS 120 and CIS 101, and recommended proficiency in typing 40wpm.) This theory course introduces the student to the electronic medical record and focuses on creating and managing a patient’s medical record on the computer. Topics include health record standards, software and data setup, appointment scheduling, patient charting, recording office visit information, ordering diagnostic laboratory tests, recording lab results, and managing procedure and diagnostic codes.
