    Description
    (Prerequisite: FREN 203 or equivalent.) This course introduces French cinema from the year 2000. This is a particularly successful period for French cinema, with a tsunami of new talents bringing a rich diversity of styles and themes. Selected movies address topics such as social class differences, language development, new immigration patterns, unemployment, social welfare, education and school system, as well as the art of making new comedies and psychological dramas. Students will also understand and appreciate the impact of new technology on French cinema.
