    (No prerequisite.) This course studies the origins of Hip-Hop from the perspectives of migrants, African, African Americans, and Latina/o cultures. Illustrating Hip-Hop as a framework to provide an analysis to white supremacy, settler colonialism and political power based on the lived experiences centering Black Americans. From the Black Awakening of the 1960s to Hip-Hop that creates a social consciousness to race and resistance for social justice. (CSU/UC)
