This course surveys representative literature from around the world, from the 17th century to the 21st century (excluding British and American literature). Students explore fiction, poetry, drama, and nonfiction through a variety of cultural and intellectual movements, such as Enlightenment philosophy, Romanticism, Realism, Modernism, Postmodernism, and Postcolonialism.
