    (No prerequisite.) This course introduces the field of performance studies through interpretation of aesthetic texts (oral interpretation of literature), emphasizing awareness and appreciation of prose, poetry, and dramatic interpretation. Students learn to convey meaning in the written word when it is read aloud for the listening pleasure of an audience. Recommended for communication and theatre arts majors.
