    (No prerequisite.) This course introduces the concepts and technologies used in information systems within organizations. Topics include, networks, the Internet, social media, e-commerce, digital security, computer hardware and software, database systems, application software, and computer programming. Students will apply these concepts and methods through hands-on projects, developing computer-based solutions using application software for spreadsheets and databases. Programs are written and run in a high-level language. The course is of interest to students in social sciences, humanities, career technical education, and business.
