    Description
    (No prerequisite. Can be taken as BIOL 138 or ENVS 138; credit awarded for only one course.) This science-based course takes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the environmental crisis that confronts us all. Discussions focus on understanding ecosystem services, how humans interfere with earth's life support systems, and how to deal with the environmental problems we face. Field studies may include visits to restoration projects, local ecosystems, and local environmental conferences.
