    Description
    (No prerequisite. May be taken as AUTO 292A or ELEC 292A; credit awarded for only one course.) This course covers electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance and design, emphasizing the principles behind component layout, battery rack and box design, construction details, and electrical wiring. The course introduces hands-on experience with these components, as well as AC and DC drive systems, types of batteries, selecting the right chassis, transmission adapter housing design, and handling chargers and controllers.
