    (No prerequisite. May also be taken as ACRT 100. Credit awarded for only one course.) This course covers writing electronic repair orders, precision measurements and automotive careers. ShopKey Pro is used allowing technicians to retrieve repair history of a vehicle and write repair orders, including labor rates, part tracking and tax computations. Students use precision measurement tools specific to the automotive industry to calculate paint mixing formulas, fuel mixture ratios, fuel mileage calculations, electrical measurements, Ohm’s law, gear ratio, engine measurements, wheel and frame alignment. Students also perform a variety of automotive experiments such as fractional distillation of fuel, expansion of metals and viscosity of oil and paint testing. Students create personal resumes and portfolios. Students earn NC3 Snap-on industry recognized certificates. (CSU)
