    (No prerequisite.) The course introduces ceramic materials as they are used by ceramic artists. Through lectures and exercises students will learn about the physical and chemical properties of clays, clay bodies, colorants and glazes in their raw and fired states. Activities include mixing, testing, firing and adjusting clay bodies, colored slips and glazes. (CSU/UC)
