    Description
(No prerequisite. Advisory: ART 113.) In this introductory level sculpture course, both classical and contemporary approaches to figure sculpture are studied. Working from live models, students learn to interpret the pose, analyze spatial relationship and proportion, experiment with scale, and learn to compose as they examine the human form. Materials may include clay, wax, armature wire, and plaster. Historical and contemporary approaches to the figure are presented through slide lectures, readings, critiques, research, and visits to exhibits.
