Emphasis is placed on non Western societies. Areas that may be covered are social organization, belief systems and ritual behavior, socialization, psychological anthropology, economic organization, social stratification, theory, and other selected topics. A goal of the course is to create a greater degree of cross cultural awareness by attempting to promote an understanding of and appreciation for the richness and diversity of human culture.
