    Description
    Study of Latin-American folklore, including Spanish-speaking folk groups in the U.S.: Emphasis on indigenous myths, legends, contemporary oral narrative, folk art, cooking, and folk music, with emphasis on the ballads, folk humor, festivals both religious and secular. No knowledge of Spanish is required. Emphasis on Mexican and Mexican-American folklore (A); Central American and Caribbean folklore (B); South American folklore (C). Also offered as Humanities 51 A-C.
