- This course examines the history, culture, and politics of Mexican-origin and Latina/o/x communities in the United States from 1848 to the present. The course explores the formation of Chicano communities, the dynamic roles of women and queer activists, and the experience of migration, resistance, and belonging. Students will analyze issues of identity, labor, representation, and social justice in relation to Chicana/o/x and Latina/o/x life.
