    This laboratory course, associated with PLS 2: Soils, focuses on the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soils and their influence on plant growth, agriculture, and the environment. Emphasizing the scientific method, hypothesis testing, and data collection, the course examines soil traits and their interactions with plants, the environment, and management practices. Students will assess soil properties, conduct soil surveys, evaluate soil quality, apply best management practices to modify soils for agricultural enhancement and environmental sustainability, and learn to use scientific inquiry to soil-related questions. Co- Requisite: PLS 2.
