    This course provides a historical overview and critical analysis of the development of law and legal issues that affect individuals, their families, and their communities in the United States. Historical and practical aspects of law in a diverse society, with emphases on the processes for creating, ratifying, and engaging with laws and with an overview of practical and historical aspects of civil, criminal, constitutional, or immigration law. Includes an interdisciplinary approach on themes such as equality, citizenship, access, and social justice. (A, CSU, UC)
