- Presents theory as applied to clinical nursing practice. Systems focus includes the musculoskeletal, integumentary, and gastrointestinal systems. Nursing care of the geriatric client is emphasized to promote understanding of the core concepts of basic medical-surgical nursing: health and illness, cultural competence and age-appropriate nursing care.
