- The nursing skill lab is designed to orient, assist, and enhance the development of psycho-motor and cognitive skills that are critical in the performance of selected fundamental nursing procedures. The skill lab provides a controlled and safe environment in which students can refine their skills prior to and while being in clinical and simulation settings. CSU
