- An introduction to basic casting techniques including direct and lost wax methods via the use of the centrifugal and vacuum cast- ing machine, as well as use of the oxyacetylene torch and electromelt furnace. Emphasis is placed on developing proficiency, thorough knowledge of safe practices, development of 3-D design skills and per- sonal aesthetic sense. CSU
